ALTERNATIVES: The best option is to stay near the port in the area of Plaza de la Piedra. There you'll find almost anything.

We can also take a boat to the Cies Islands. The company Mar de Ons leaves from the port every half an hour. The fare is about € 20 round trip and takes about 45 minutes long.

Also, if you want to lay on the beach, you can take a taxi to Samil.

WHERE TO EAT: The most famous place in the city Plaza de la Piedra. There you'll find some ladies with fresh oysters. They open them on the fly you can take the plate with you to any of the bars and eat there asking for a good Ribeiro or Albariño. There you can also eat some fish, seafood (typical mariscada) or some tapas in the bars.

You also can go upstairs to a famous restaurant El Mucielago and eat sole or a piece good steak "churrasco" (medium-expensive price).

In Santiago you can eat almost everywhere some tapas or seafood. You can also try the "other Paris-Dakar", a "tapas" route that begins at a bar called Paris and ends at another one near Obradoiro called Dakar.

SHOPPING: In the area of Plaza de la Piedra you'll find shops of all kinds and handcrafts.
